Globes de Mariee or Marriage Globes were displayed in homes to commemorate the couple’s union. They would be proudly displayed and would hold symbolic keepsakes such as the bride’s wedding crown which would rest on the throne’s velvet cushion. Many have lost their glass domes over the years this one is still present. This one’s contents are in quite amazing condition. We have never had one pass through the store in such good condition. The brides handheld bouquet is tucked away at the bottom of the display, the gold is still breight and shiny. The flowers are just too good to be true so these may have been later additions or replacements. They don’t come much better than this.
SHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS – The glass domes on these are very fragile, hand made and quite unique dimensionally. As a result we ship these first. When they arrive safely we ship the rest of the piece. This enables us to try and find a replacement if the worse should happen and reduces return costs as we cannot insure glass for transit. If things break you receive a full refund of course. For the record we have never had one of these break in transit and we have shipped them all over the world.

Condition: in antique condition with signs of previous use and display, some tarnish and patina to metalwork but the gold plate is still very shiny and bright, some wax parts from display may be missing lost over the years, original bride bouquet still in the bottom of the display (a first for us), flowers may be later replacements, some of the metal may be a little bent and need pushing back into shape, some signs of long gone historical woodworm to base which looks like it also received a new coat of varnish when refurbished, please see all pictures, a very good example

Yes we can! The card can feature a hand written message of your choosing in French, German or English. Items are wrapped in white tissue paper and finished with brown woven cotton ribbons. To select gift wrapping choose the option at checkout or get in touch. An extra fee does apply.
The large majority of our stock appears on our website but we always have more listing to do! There is a chance that we may have different items and quantities than those that are listed here immediately available from stock. We also keep tabs on a lot of outlets in our local areas and also have quite a network of colleagues throughout Western Europe, so we may be able to help source your special requirements. If you would like us to keep an eye out for something or source an item just let us know what you are after and your budget and we will let you know promptly if we can help.
Yes you can! We have previously been happy to loan items for film shoots, television shows, photo shoots, shop openings, weddings and corporate events. For example, you may have seen items we have supplied at Disneyland Paris, in The Americans TV series, and many shows produced at Pinewood Studios in the U.K. Terms are negotiable but we usually ask for full payment for the item and then refund 50% upon return of the items to us within a year. Obviously items need to be returned in the condition they were sent out in. Customers will be responsible for initial and return transit costs and any damage incurred whilst in use or in return transit.
We operate a love it, or return it, no quibble, full refund policy. We appreciate that things sometimes do not fit in or suit quite as expected, and as a result we are happy to provide refunds due to the very nature of online shopping. Buyers will be responsible for return transit costs. To qualify simply let us know you wish to return an item within thirty days of receipt.
We can only create lay-away accounts or take 20% reservation deposits from customers on our website. Etsy and Ebay do not have the facilty to do this easily. A high number of customers fail to return to complete their purchase even after they have paid a 20% deposit so please make sure you really want the item. Items can be reserved for three months after a 20% non-fundable deposit has been made.

We are based in Lower Normandy in France. All of our stock is dispatched from here. Personal collection can be arranged from our buying office or shop in Lower Normandy with 24 hours notice. Ask for details.

We ship everywhere! We have shipped thousands of items worldwide via tracked and insured postage services. Signed for services are also available at an extra premium. Postage costs will be displayed as you approach checkout. We give significant automatic postage discounts on multiple item orders at checkout with customers only paying postage for the heaviest item they buy.
Postage and packing costs on our own website are often subsidised by us and cheaper than postage charges in our shops on Etsy and Ebay where we have to pay seller fees. Postage prices on our other third party selling venues reflect the actual cost of sending items and do not include multiple item purchase postage discounts on heavier items.
Items are usually dispatched within one working day. They typically arrive with customers 3-15 working days (up to 3 weeks) after dispatch depending on your location and the delivery service selected at checkout. We cannot guarantee any shipping times as we rely on assorted third parties for transit and cross border services. We cannot avoid customs delays for example. All items are sent fully tracked and insured against loss and breakage in transit.
