An antique French tall plinth or side table. Often referred to as Vide Poche. A pot for collecting things such as keys placed in the hallway of homes. The pot is made from paper mache with inlaid pieces of Mother of Pearl the leg is wood with hand painted golden decoration. Has some damage detailed below but reasonably strong and stable.

Condition: in antique condition with signs of previous use, wear, scars and scrapes, damage and cracks to paper mache top – damage around edges especially, lots of pieces of mother of pearl inlay missing – around half, wooden leg has signs of long gone historical woodworm which we have treated just in case, top flips sideways without issue, top dish moves a little on its fixing but stays in place, reasonably strong and functional item but top is fragile, despite all this one of the most complete and strongest vide poches we have had through the store as most of the paper mache tops disintergrate beyond being functional and are replaced with wooden tops, please see all pictures
