An antique New World pre Columbian piece. It appears to represent a pelican, and we are leaning towards the Taino (Caribbean) culture, but it could be a Chimu piece (South American). Given the pieces unknown provenance, it is hard to say. The eye of the bird is rather distinctive though, and that seems Taino.
